Frequently asked questions
What is the deal with natural deodorant?
A natural deodorant is different from an anti-perspirant. While an anti-perspirant blocks your sweat glands - thus you do not sweat, a natural deodorant will make you sweat as your body should- to rid of toxins in the body. The sweat does not make you stink. It is the bacteria that make you smell funky. A natural deodorant deodorises naturally thus eliminating odor in a healthier way.
Why you should switch to natural deodorant?
Firstly - why not? A natural deodorant does all the work that it is meant to - prevent you from stinking and for some people - not sweat so much. We admit that you will sweat with a natural deodorant but the sweating gets lesser over time for most users.

How do I use a deodorant paste/cream?
Nothing fancy or complicated here. Like any other body care products, apply the deodorant cream on clean and dry underarms.
Do note that if you have sensitive skin, it is recommended that you do a patch test first to see if you are sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
While using the natural deodorant, less is more - Scoop a pea size with your fingers or a small wooden spatula if you need to and apply on each underarm. Start with a small amount and increase the amount if you need to gradually.
I get a reaction - red or dark patches, dryness and rash-like reaction after using the deodorant. What should I do?
We are aware that all body chemistry are different and some people might be more sensitive to a new product when used.
Take a look at our detox process below for a better understanding of the transition process when switching to a natural deodorant.
If you have been using a store-bought/drugstore antiperspirant (like we do) all our lives, the body might go through a transition period to purge out the chemicals that we have put our bodies through all these years. This is a natural process. Try the following remedies to help you through the transition period.
1. Swipe some apple cider vinegar on your pits after each shower and before the application of the deodorant. This will help to neutralise the pH level of the skin and reduces any inflammation or redness/dark patches you may encounter.
2. A simple armpit detox includes the following, according to the Healthy and Natural World website:
1 tablespoon bentonite clay
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (unfiltered works best)
1-2 tablespoons waterMix all ingredients in a glass bowl with a non-metal utensil. The thickness should be similar to that of yogurt. Spread the mixture in an even layer under each armpit. Leave the mixture on for a few minutes for the first few times, then slowly increase the time to no longer than 20 minutes. Wash the mixture off the armpits with warm water. If the armpits turn red, do not worry, as this is quite normal and harmless.
However, if anyone experiences any other reactions to the clay, wash the mixture off immediately. Repeat the detoxification daily until there is no odor in the armpits or until natural deodorants no longer irritate the skin.
